I came across this little scene while walking through Burr Oak Woods in Jackson County, Missouri. I like how the marks of human conservation work is evident in the midst of overgrowing natural processes. It is a plein air painting, with touch up work back in the studio. The title harkens back to God’s instructions to Adam to “tend and keep” the garden.
