This painting was inspired by a photo and memory of a recent hike through Burr Oak Woods Conservation Area on the morning after a heavy snowfall. It celebrates the effects of snow in the landscape: soft textures, gentle curves, intense light bouncing around everywhere, and the warm sunlit areas against cool shadows. I was honored to have this painting accepted into the National Oil and Acrylic Painters' Society Best of America Show in 2010.
